Your Child's Tennis Journey
To find the perfect fit, our international coaches personally assess every child and recommend the ideal class for their age and ability. Using different coloured balls ensures players develop skills and confidence at the right pace. As they progress, they’ll improve their game, build friendships, and grow a lifelong love for tennis.
Age: 18-36months (adult assisted)
Ball Speed: Sponge ball, Red ball 75% slower than regular ball
Court Size: Playing zones, 36” x 18”
Racket Size: 17 to 19 inches
Player Profile: Our Foundation Programme introduces and develops players key fundamental physical, cognitive and social skills required for learning any sport through a series of fun sporting games, challenges and exercises.
Players will develop balance, agility, co-ordination, sending and receiving skills, fine / gross motor skills, but also cognitive skills, from focus, independent thinking, problem solving and decision making, all while having lots of fun in a social game based session. Laying a great foundation for a future in sport.
Competition Opportunities: Internal class – fun exercise, and game based challenges to test players skill and development
Age: 3–8 years
Ball Speed: 75% slower than regular ball
Court Size: 36″ x 18″
Racket Size: 19 to 23 inches
Player Profile: Our Red Ball Programme teaches players fundamental hand-eye coordination, basic skills, movement and tennis technique foundation.
This Level is the multifaceted baseline to a child’s development.
Competition Opportunities: ATA Mini red events termly and Inter programme competitions between pathways, parent child challenge, All ATA camps. Transitioning to ORANGE BALL
Age: 7–9 years
Ball Speed: 50% slower than regular ball
Court Size: 60″ x 21″ singles, 60″ x 27″ doubles
Racket Size: 23 to 25 inches
Player Profile: ATA’s orange ball programme is suitable for young, experienced players and slightly older players with technical competency and semi-confident rallying skills. Fostering a strong technique, understanding spins, tactical skills and sportsmanship is taught to the young players.
Competition Opportunities: ATA mini orange events, ATA world tour, Inter Venue, Challenges, Family challenges, All ATA camps.
Age: 9-12 years
Ball Speed: 25% slower than regular ball
Court Size: 60″ x 21″ singles, 60″ x 27″ doubles
Racket Size: 25 to 26 inches
Player Profile: ATA’s green ball programme caters to players ready to expand into more advanced movement, stroke technique and tactical patterns with the emphasis on skill-based matchplay. A strong emphasis is placed on full court matchplay with competitive intensity.
Competition Opportunities: ATA mini green events, Junior Leagues, ATA World Tour, Inter Venue, Challenges, Family challenges, All ATA Camps.
Ages: 12 years & over
Equipment: yellow ball, 27” adult racket, full sized court
Player Profile: beginner or intermediate level teenagers with a limited tennis background.
This programme brings older children back onto the court, in a comfortable and enjoyable, yet fast tracked learning experience
Competition Opportunities: ATA world tour, teenager on move social matchplay nights, Inter venue challenges, parent child challenge, all ATA camps.
Academy Squads are for current and potential HKTA Junior League Players looking to accelerate their matchplay development and mould their game.
Technical Drills: Ensuring all fundamentals are satisfactory for matchplay
Live Ball Drills: Matchplay tactics such as shot selection and point construction
Individual Video Analysis: Ground stroke mechanics and footwork patterns
Style: Develop an individual playing style and preference
Sports Psychology: Matchplay and pressure situations
ACADEMY C
Ages: 12 years & under
Player Profile: This programme is for the younger player who is physically building strength, consistency and creating a strong basis for competitive tennis.
ACADEMY B
Ages: 14 years & under
Player profile: For the physically stronger player who is working towards building and improving their competitive tennis.
ACADEMY A
Ages: 18 years & under
Player Profile: For players 13 years and above, playing tennis 3+ times per week. These players are goal oriented, pursuing a high performance pathway in their tennis.
Competition Opportunities: A, B, C Junior Leagues, Inter programme competitions, Prince Challenge, HKTA tennis events, overseas Trips, ATA performance camps.

FAQs
What happens during wet weather?
In case of bad weather, please do not assume that tennis is cancelled as alternate programme or indoor venues my be offered depending on venue.
Cancellation of lessons will be by WhatsApp message approximately 45 mins before the commencement of the lesson. No message means that the lesson is on. If attending a group session the class WhatsApp group will be messaged.
Feel free to contact the coach directly for confirmation. (Please note ATA parents, If you have a helper doing pick ups / drop offs please advise us of their contact number so they can be included on the group.
Are the camps held indoor or outdoor?
All camps are held outdoors. However, in case of wet weather, we may have indoor alternatives. If there are any changes to the venue locations, we will notify all parents via our camp WhatsApp group.
